The birth of a British princess is “a great day for Australians”, prime minister Tony Abbott said, just months after his leadership was criticised for the widely unpopular decision to knight the infant’s grandfather.
The staunch monarchist congratulated the duke and duchess of Cambridge on the arrival of their second child.
