North Korea detains South Korean NYU student, report says

North Korea has allegedly detained a South Korean New York University student who attempted to illegally enter the country

Joo Won-moon, a 21-year-old permanent resident of the U.S., tried to enter North Korea through the Amnok River via the Chinese town of Dandong, according to the Korean Central News Agency. He was arrested and is now being questioned by North Korean authorities, the state media agency said

The student was a junior at NYU's Stern School of Business, though he was not taking courses this semester, an NYU spokesperson confirmed. Read more...
