Fiat used Microsoft Kinect to let people flip a 3,000-pound car — virtually

NEW YORK — Fiat turned to technology to promote its 500X Trekking vehicle at the New York Auto Show on Thursday


The company collaborated with Icon Interactive to create a giant digital display attached to a Microsoft Kinect, which allowed users to interact with the car with just a wave of their hand



Standing 12 feet wide by 7 feet tall, the massive display presented the Fiat 500X as a life-sized image, as viewers swiped to launch various functions while standing 10 feet away.
