President Barack Obama marked the Persian holiday Nowruz with a video message to Iranians, urging citizens to support a plan for nuclear de-escalation in the country.
In the video, which is subtitled in Farsi, Obama calls on Iranians to seize a "historic opportunity" for peace.
"Now it is up to all of us, Iranians and Americans, to seize this moment and the possibilities that can bloom in this new season," Obama says.
Nowruz marks the Persian new year and coincides with the spring equinox. It is celebrated as a national holiday in Iran. Read more...
