LONDON — How do you increase awareness about large bodies of rock from Space that could strike Earth at any point? The answer doesn't involve a Bruce Willis movie.
Astronauts, Nobel Laureates, technologists and even Queen's Brian May are coming together in simultaneous press conferences in London and San Francisco Wednesday to announce Asteroid Awareness Day on Jun. 30, 2015, which could even include a Live Aid-Style concert.
Organisers have said the goal of the day is to educate the world about what asteroids are, how frequently they impact Earth and how we can protect ourselves from potential disasters. Read more...
