LONDON — The leader of the Green Party was attracting lots of attention on Tuesday — for all the wrong reasons.
Green Party leader Natalie Bennett described her interview on a morning radio show as "excruciating" because of a very public "mind blank."
It started going downhill when LBC Radio presenter Nick Ferrari pushed Bennett to explain where the Green Party would find the money to pay for 500,000 social housing homes, which was one of the party's general election promises announced during the launch of its campaign on Tuesday
Initially, Bennett couldn't recall how much it would cost to build the new homes, but then gave a figure of £2.7 billion, to which Ferrari responded: "500,000 homes, £2.7 billion? What are they made of, plywood?" Read more...
