Now Waffle House wants a piece of the sharing economy pie — er, waffle

Waffle House announced on Tuesday that it is getting in on the "sharing economy" action by partnering with Roadie, a new startup following a TaskRabbit-like model for package deliveries in which drivers are compensated for delivering packages on routes they were probably planning to take



The U.S. waffle chain will make its 1,750 restaurants available as meeting points — or Roadie Roadhouses, as they apparently had no choice but to call it — for drivers and senders exchanging deliveries


The arrangement, the first of its kind for Waffle House, should give a nice boost to Roadie by extending its physical presence to locations in more than two dozen states.
