Cynthia was surprised to see him. After John Lennon started living with Yoko Ono, the rest of the Beatles showed Cynthia the cold shoulder. But here was McCartney, brandishing a bunch of roses and a sweet, over-the-top gesture; he got down on one knee. "How about it Cyn, you and me?" he said, according to the Beatles biography Shout! by Philip Norman.
